Solidarity Platform (“The Platform”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”)—as an online platform with both editorially curated contents and user-submitted contents—is governed by terms of services. These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of and access to the website (collectively the “Platform”), and cover modalities related to the use of the platform, contents on the platform, rights regarding user content, platform rules, data ownership (related to user-submitted content), privacy, and limitation of liability.
Definitions
- “Solidarity Platform”, (“The Platform”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”).
- “Contents”: textual or media (image/video/sound) information as made visible within the context of this website.
- “Curated contents”: contents that have been commissioned, editorially processed and endorsed by this website’s publisher.
- “User-submitted contents”: contents submitted by visitors.
- “Comments”: user-submitted contents as visible within the website’s Resources section.
- “Event submissions”: user-submitted contents as visible within the website’s Calendar section.
Use of the Platform
You may only access and use the Platform if you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are accepting these Terms and using the Platform on behalf of an organization or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to do so. In the event you breach these Terms, or violate the Platform Rules, we may, in our sole discretion, revoke your rights to use the Platform.
Privacy
Due to the nature of the Platform and only in limited circumstances for functional purposes, we might collect some personal information. Personal identifiable information is collected only with your explicit consent. Our Privacy and data policy describes which and how we use and process the information you provide to us when you use the Platform.
Content on the Platform
You are responsible for your use of the Platform and for any content you submit, post, display or otherwise make available on or through the Platform (“User Content”), including that such User Content complies with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. You should only provide Content that you are comfortable sharing with others.
Solidarity Platform takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for any User Content that you or any other User or third-party posts or sends over the Platform. You shall be solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of posting or publishing it, and you agree that we are only acting as a passive conduit for your online distribution and publication of your User Content. You understand and agree that you may be exposed to User Content that is inaccurate, or otherwise unsuited to your purpose, and you agree that Solidarity Platform shall not be liable for any damages you allege to incur as a result of User Content. We do not endorse, support, represent or guarantee the completeness, truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of any User Content or communications posted via the Platform or endorse any opinions expressed via the Platform. We may not monitor or control the User Content posted via the Platform and, we cannot take responsibility for such User Content. You agree that Solidarity Platform shall not be liable for any damages you incur as a result of User Content.
By using the Service you represent and warrant that your User Content does not violate any applicable law or infringe any third party proprietary rights, including but not limited to, any Intellectual Property Rights. Solidarity Platform will respond to notices of alleged infringement that comply with applicable law and are properly provided to us.
Rights Regarding User Content
You retain your rights to any User Content (“User Content”). By submitting, posting or displaying any Content on the Service, you expressly grant, and you represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant The Platform license to publish, transmit, display, and distribute of such User Content through the website and in means of communication and dissemination under the responsibility of The Platform. In the case of Event submissions, you agree to grant Solidarity Platform the right to potentially edit your submitted content (in a non-altering, for legibility purposes). You can revoke this right at any time for submitted Comments by accessing the “edit” section of your content (with your comment key and ID) and deleting your content. You can also revoke this right for other submitted contents by getting in touch with us by email.
Platform Rules
You agree to comply with the Platform Rules which are part of these Terms and outline what is prohibited on the Platform.
Bullying; Harassment; Hate Speech. We do not allow bullying or hate speech on the Platform. Hate speech attacks people based on “protected characteristics” which include race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, sex, gender, gender identity or serious disability or disease.
Trademark Rights and Rights of Publicity; Impersonation. Users are required to respect the intellectual property rights of others. Additionally, users are prohibited from impersonating others in a manner that does or is intended to mislead or deceive others.
Violence and Criminal Acts. Users are prohibited from promoting or publicizing violent crime. We also prohibit users from making credible threats of violence, serious physical harm, or death.
Deceitful data collection; Malware Collecting or harvesting any personally identifiable information, including account names, from the Service; attempting to interfere with, to compromise the system integrity or security or to decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running the Service.
Spam. Users are prohibited from posting or sending Spam through the service. What constitutes Spam is constantly evolving. Generally, Spam means repeated actions that negatively impact others, such as repeatedly posting a comment with the intent to post a thread etc.
User-submitted content and data ownership
While submitting content (User-submitted content), you entrust us with collecting and preserving personal data. This data consists of the submitted content itself, as well as anonymous identifiers. You remain in ownership of this data at any time. Solidarity Platform does not sell or share your data, and ensure that your rights remain respected to the best of our abilities.
For Comments, you have the ability to access, edit or delete your data by means of an identifier and key provided to you while submitting your comment. This ensures a fair level of anonymity combined with the possibility of managing your data by yourself. Consequently, this also mean that we can’t respond to requests to edit/access data for Comments as we don’t have viable means to identify contributors and their submitted contents.
For Event submissions, since we have the ability to identify contributors and their submitted contents, you can contact us by email in the case you wish to access, alter or revoke your data. The data consists of (previously submitted) contact details, as well as submitted information related to the event.

Limitation of Liability
Solidarity Platform makes efforts in ensuring that its content (excluding user-submitted content) is the uttermost exact, reliable, accurate, suitable and without factual errors. Nonetheless, due to the changing nature of the (circumstantial and time-sensitive) information provided within this website, the Platform bears no responsibility for any consequences or damages (legal or material) resulting from accessing or making decisions based on content provided by Us. The information provided by Solidarity Platform is not legally-binding, and it will ultimately always be your responsibility to ensure that the information is indeed factually applicable to your circumstances.
The Platform might use hyperlinks that direct towards pages that are external to the website. Such links are provided as a convenience and for informational purposes only; they do not constitute an endorsement or an approval by the Platform, and the Platform bears no responsibility for the accuracy, legality or content of the external site or for that of subsequent links.
Disputes, Choice of Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the country of the Netherlands, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of laws.
